iF Design

TAITRA (External Trade Development Council) and iF are again inviting all exhibitors at COMPUTEX TAIPEI and all IT companies registered in Taiwan to register for the COMPUTEX TAIPEI design & innovation award 2010. Now in its third year, the COMPUTEX TAIPEI design & innovation award has become a recognized design competition and an integral part of COMPUTEX TAIPEI. Online registration at the iF website will be open from December 2009.

The countdown is on: numerous designers, retailers, manufacturers and engineers have registered their products for the EUROBIKE AWARD 2009, a competition organized by Messe Friedrichshafen (Germany) for outstanding design in the bicycle market. On 19 August 2009, an international expert jury will select the best products and honor them with the sought-after EUROBIKE award. Additionally, the product with the highest ecological value will receive the EUROBIKE green award 2009.

The young gerneration contest "lebens(t)räume" (dreams for life) is being organized since 2004 by Vincentz Network, in collaboration with the "universal design GmbH" and "organized by iF". It aims at young people to design for the older generations as well as for disabled people.

With which innovative ideas do young designers come up with to create intelligent materials? Which changes will we see in future in the field of lightweight construction and composite material? These issues are dealt with by the material TRENDS award 2010 organized by iF for the first time ever.

Exhibitors of ZOW (the central trade fair for suppliers to the furniture and interior design industries) as well as non-exhibitors are invited to register their innovative products for the M TECHNOLOGY AWARD 2009 by 21 August 2009. A renowned expert jury will select the best products and concepts in a jury session on 10 September 2009.

The project "niedersachsendesign" was initiated in 2008 by the German Lower Saxony Ministry of Economy and Transport and organized in cooperation with iF. The initiative is aimed at developing awareness for good design as an essential driver of economic success. Small and medium sized companies use the communication platform www.niedersachsendesign.de, which was developed during the project, to exchange information and ideas on this topic and related issues.

The quality label of the OutDoor INDUSTRY AWARD, which has been held since 2005, shows end users which products are particularly innovative and functional or which are the most environmentally friendly or sustainable.
