This category is for pure materials, newly developed or existing, for which no use must have been found yet. Technical materials intended for mass production may also be submitted in this category. A material sample with details of the most important properties of the material must be provided for the jury session.

Products from all branches of the industry may be entered for this category. These products should use new or familiar materials and materials properties (e.g. conduction, illumination, energy storage, material saving, etc.) in an innovative way. Original products or prototypes and scale models are required for the judging. A complete material sample would also be desirable. It is also possible to register product concepts or ideas in this category. In this case, for the jury to make its decision a comprehensive description is necessary that precisely illustrates the properties and functions of the product. Of course, it is also possible to send in prototypes, multimedia presentations or presentation boards in order to further explain the product concept or idea.

In this category new production processes are examined that employ new or existing materials. A description of the production process, supported by a material sample, is required for the judging.
