More than 50 experts from all over the world will convene in Hamburg in January 2015 to select the winners in the iF DESIGN AWARD 2015.
The jury will also identify the very best among all award winners. Their outstanding work will be recognized with an iF gold award on 27 February 2015 at BMW World in Munich.

Marcelo Rosenbaum is one of the most successful Brazilian designers. For over 20 years, the founder and CEO of the São Paolo-based multidisciplinary design studio Rosenbaum has been designing products that mirror both Brazilian savoir vivre and the country’s cultural diversity. In 1999, Marcelo’s work was acknowledged with the furniture design prize (first place) of the Museu da Casa Brasileira. Marcelo is also a frequent workshop leader and presenter at design events and exhibitions throughout the world. Since 2014, he has been a curator at the Museum of Modern Art in São Paolo.

Tommy Li is a branding designer who works on an international level. The Tommy Li Design Workshop is one of the leading branding agencies in China. He graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Design and he has received more than 580 awards.

Isabell Hamm is a product designer, focusing on ceramics and glass design. In her own studio, isabell hamm gestaltung, she develops glass lamps and chandeliers, either as one-off pieces or in small, limited numbers and especially for the hotel, retail, office and private sectors. Her work has been exhibited in Zurich, Cologne and London. After training as a ceramicist, she studied at the Royal College of Art in London, graduating in 1998 with an MA in ceramics and glass. In the same year, she received the rsa student design award in glassware.
Tomek Rygalik is a designer and educator with Ph.D in Industrial Design. In 2006, he founded his successful design studio, which, since 2009, has been based in Warsaw. His clients include Moroso, Ideal Standard, Siemens, Heineken and Ikea.. Since 2008, Tomek has been teaching at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. From 2010 he also provides creative direction for leading polish furniture brands including Comforty and Paged. Markus Kreykenbohm trained as a media designer and graduated in design. After living in Hamburg for almost ten years, today, he is the creative director at Kochstrasse™ Agentur für Marken GmbH, a design and strategy agency of forty staff, based in Hanover, Germany. He is also a partner in the company. Besides his work at the agency, he is also passionate about the highly successful Zirkeltraining brand that produces upcycled bags. Among others, Zirkeltraining has received an iF gold award.
Nils Holger Moormann GmbH
Nils Holger Moormann is a designer and lives and works in Aschau am Chiemsee/Germany. Fascinated by the design world, he ended his studies of law in the early 1980s and moved as a self-taught expert into the furniture industry. In 1984, Moormann founded his own company – which features an internationally respected and multiple award-winning furniture collection today.
Henrik Jeppesen is the CEO of Attention Design. After studying in France and the US, he graduated in industrial design (1985) from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. He has been teaching at various universities in the USA, China and Denmark. His work has been exhibited in Europe and Asia and has received numerous awards, including the red dot award, the ID Prize and the iF design award.
Gustavo Greco is founder and creative director of GRECO DESIGN as well as professor in Brand Management at the PUC Minas (Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais, Brazil). Furthermore, he is director of the Brazilian Association of Design Companies – ABEDESIGN. He has also featured in and received awards from both domestic and international publications and organizations such as: iF communication design award, London International Awards, Red Dot Award, D&AD Award and many more. GRECO DESIGN took part in the latest editions of the National Graphic Design Biennial.
Kolle Rebbe GmbH
Sascha Hanke is executive creative director and co-creative director at the Hamburg-based communication agency Kolle Rebbe. His clients include Gruner + Jahr, LUMAS, Deutsche Grammophon, Universal Music, Bahlsen and many more. Before joining Kolle Rebbe, for ten years, Sascha was a copywriter; he was creative director and managing director creation, working across disciplines for large brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Bosch, RWE, Sixt and 1&1.
Gert Trauernicht is an industrial designer and co-owner of the Düsseldorf-based design studio squareone, which he founded together with Martin Topel. He is also a professor at the University of Wuppertal. As a designer, he works for clients from various design sectors, including Airbus, Braun, Festo, Henkel and many more. His work has been recognized, among others, with several iF design awards.
Oliver Berger trained as a visual merchandiser and later graduated in industrial design from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland and in marketing management from the University of Basle. His career led him to Rio de Janeiro where he worked for Indio da Costa Design and to Zurich to join Nose Design, where he later served as a member of the management board. Since 2011, he has been responsible for directing the global design activities of Sennheiser electronic. As a design lecturer, he focuses on the combination of design and brand.

Since 2009, Adrienne Héon-Kleinen has been corporate strategy & innovation manager of Nestlé Germany. For several years, she was a partner in Brain to Rent, a strategic marketing & innovation consultancy. Early career milestones included posts as strategic planner at renowned advertising agencies and as marketing manager at Kraft Foods. Adrienne studied at the University of Passau and at the European School of Management (EAP).
After his university degree in engineering, Claude Toussaint passed his postgraduate design course at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design . He started working at designaffairs GmbH in 1999 and set up the interface division. Since March 2007, Claude Toussaint is one of four new owners and managing partners of designaffairs GmbH. He is head of the interdisciplinary interface team and manages projects for customers like Audi, BMW, Daimler, Opel, Loewe, Siemens, B/S/H/.
David Crafoord is Design Director at Veryday and Professor of Design at Linnaeus University. He is one of the key people behind Veryday´s success and one of the most award winning design consultant working today. He is probably best known as the designer behind the first Koenigsegg car, ranked by Forbes as one of the ten most beautiful cars ever made. He has also been a key designer in the development of 3M’s welding helmet Speedglas that received an iF gold award 2009. He has a strong commitment to people-driven innovation as a means to enhance quality of life.
SETSU & SHINOBU ITO
Setsu Ito is a Japanese designer, trained in many design disciplines. He works, among others, in the areas of furniture design, kitchen and bathroom design, lighting design and packaging design. In 1995, he founded a design studio in Milan together with Shinobu Ito. After graduating from the Tsubaka University in Japan, he worked with legendary Italian designers such as Alessandro Mendini and Angelo Mangiarotti. His work has received numerous awards, including the Compasso d’Oro (2011).
A childhood love of puzzles and collecting gave Heidi Lightfoot a passion for problem solving and the keen eyes of a magpie. She has worked in the London design industry for 20 years. In 2003 she co-founded Together Design, an award-winning design and branding company with an emphasis on collaboration and craft. The company is now 15 people strong, with a focus on retail and packaging. At Together, Heidi combines the roles of MD, HR Manager and Creative Director.
Wolfgang Wagner is a managing partner in the Hamburg-based design studio Design 3 where he is responsible for projects commissioned by both German companies and international brands such as LG, Daikin Omron, Panasonic and Huawei. He places great importance on aspects such as simplicity, usability and aesthetics. Wolfgang graduated from the Kiel University of Applied Sciences. His work has been acknowledged with several awards.

Manfred Dorn is director of user experience design at Phoenix Design Stuttgart/Shanghai. He is also a partner in the company and one of the managing directors of Phoenix Design, one of the leading design studios in Germany. After graduating from the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design, he worked for several design-focused companies such as Artemide, ALIAS and Mercedes-Benz. In addition to being a juror, he is also involved in young talent support, among others at the Phoenix Design Academy and by lecturing at universities.

John Walsh is the owner of Made, which he founded in 2006. Designing contemporary furniture, lighting and products, Made has worked with international manufacturers to develop versatile successful products. Besides, John has lectured at Dublin Institute of Technology and Buckingham Chilterns University College. His products have won several international awards, e.g. the Triflow Future Talents Award 2009. John Walsh gained his Master Degree in Furniture and Product Design at Buckingham Chilterns University College in 1999.

Since 2008, Simon Husslein has been one half of the designer duo at Studio Hannes Wettstein in Zurich. He graduated in industrial design from the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt, Germany. After completing an MA course in design products at the Royal College of Art in London, from 2007 to 2008, he was a lecturer at the Tongji University in Shanghai. During and after his studies, Simon worked as a contractor for design studios in China, Japan and Switzerland.
ULRIKE BRANDI LICHT
Ulrike Brandi graduated in industrial design from the Hamburg University of Fine Arts. In 1986, she founded the Ulrike Brandi Licht GmbH where she has since been managing director. She has developed lighting solutions for more than 800 international projects. Among her latest projects are lighting designs for the satellite terminal of the Munich airport, for the Rotterdam Centraal train station, for the new Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart and for the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. In addition to teaching assignments and guest professorships at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, the Braunschweig University of Art and the Linz University of Art and Design, Ulrike also hosts design workshops and has published several guidebooks on lighting.
Marius Voigt is the managing director of the Berlin-based branch of fischerAppelt (Creative Content Group). A staff of 60 experts from the areas of advertising, design, public relations, public affairs, moving image and event management work in the office located in Germany’s capital. In Germany, Marius is one of the best-known personalities in the area of public campaigning. His clients include federal ministries, regional governments, associations/societies and NGOs, as well as private and state-owned companies. Marius trained as an advertising specialist and graduated in political studies and media consulting.

Donghoon Chang is currently the Senior Vice President of Samsung’s Mobile Design Group of Telecommunication Business, Samsung Electronics Co. LTD. Chang received his MFAs from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Seoul National University. Before joining Samsung, he was a professor at EWHA Woman’s University. In 2006 he joined Samsung Electronics and has focused on advanced designing activities through innovative design solution and led global design trends with prestigious designs.
THOMAS + MARTIN POSCHAUKO
Thomas Poschauko is a designer, working together with his twin brother Martin in their studio Atelier Thomas + Martin Poschauko based in Au near Bad Aibling, Germany. In the design field, the brothers work, among others, for SONY Music, the Kieler Woche, Deutsche Post and Auerberg. As artists they focus on the areas of painting, drawing, graphic reproduction and film. Their book ‘Nea Machina’ has received many awards. They often host workshops and give presentations on the subject of creativity, using an experimental approach to explore the creative process.
Jan-Erik Baars is an independent consultant for design strategy and design management and an associate partner in the international design agency Van Berlo. Additionally, he is the head of the BA Program in Design Management at the Lucerne University of Applied Arts. He started his career as a designer when he joined Philips in 1990 where he designed medical equipment, as well as lighting and consumer products. Many of his products have received several awards, including the iF gold award.
KOZ SUSANI DESIGN INC
Product and interior designer Defne Koz was born in Turkey and raised in Italy, where she trained in Ettore Sottsass’ design studio in Milan. Later, she moved to the USA and co-founded Koz Susani Design. Together with Marco Susani, Defne develops innovative products, characterized by both iconic design and influences from her native cultures. Among the studio’s renowned clients are Panasonic, Vitra, Alessi and Nissan. Her work has received many awards and has been widely exhibited, thus making it known all over the world.

Jason J.S. Fan is founder of the Signet Design Company and co-founder of the Taiwan Design Alliance, a multi-disciplinary association of Taiwanese designers. For two years, he was president of the Taiwan Graphic Design Association and, from 2009 to 2011, he was vice president of the International Council of Communication Design. He also lectured at the National Taiwan University of Arts. After graduating from the National Taiwan University of Arts, in 1989, he completed his MA at the renowned Pratt Institute in New York.

Since 1990, Sebastian Bergne (born 1966) has successfully been running his own design studio, Sebastian Bergne Ltd. A Royal College of Art graduate in industrial design, his work has received many international design awards and is included, for example, in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and in the Design Museum in London. Sebastian is also a frequent design lecturer, editor and curator.
Yao Yingjia is vice president and chief designer at Lenovo in Beijing, China. He is responsible for innovation design and user experience, developing products such as desktop designs, laptops and digital home equipment. Bringing together Chinese and western cultures, he cooperates with a design team whose members come from more than 13 different countries. When Yao joined Lenovo in 1996, he paved the way for the company’s first team to specialize in industrial design, thus making Lenovo the first Chinese IT company to position itself in the market with a focus on industrial design.

Katsuhiko Shibuya is creative director at Shiseido Co. Ltd., an internationally known cosmetics brand. The Japanese graphic designer graduated from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (today named Tokyo University of the Arts). Among other posts, he was responsible for the corporate identity of the cosmetics company AYURA. Katsuhiko has received many awards, including the JAGDA New Designer Award, several ADC awards and the Tokyo TDC Gold Medal.

André Stauffer is creative director at MetaDesign in Zurich, Switzerland. He heads design and branding projects for national and international clients from various business sectors. After training as a teacher, he studied graphic design at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences. In 1966, he joined MetaDesign in Berlin. Since 2000, he has been responsible for building the creative team in Zurich and directing its work. Besides design concepts and quality assurance, he focuses on design education and the communication of the strategic importance of design. André is a guest lecturer at vocational schools and universities, both in Switzerland and abroad. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences.
Jens Röper is a partner in Designit, the largest design and innovation agency in Europe, where he also serves on the board of directors. Based in Munich, he provides consultancy services in the areas of innovation and user experience to international clients. After graduating from the University of Essen, Jens started his career as an industrial designer with Design Continuum in Milan and Boston. In 2004, he joined Kiska in Salzburg (Austria), where he developed design strategies for numerous clients.

Beat Karrer is a product designer and the founder of FluidSolids AG, a company based in Switzerland, which produces and sells a bioplastic material developed by Beat. As an expert in materials and production technologies, he has received many renowned awards and his clients include companies from all over Europe. After training as a carpenter, Beat moved into design and, in 1993, he founded his own studio in Zurich. Since 2005, Beat has also been a visiting lecturer, speaker/presenter and workshop instructor.
With his Helsinki-based studio Ripatti, Timo Ripatti (born 1967) designs furniture and lighting, characterized by sculptural forms and a Scandinavian touch. His clients include Microsoft Finland, Kone and the Finnish parliament. Timo also lectures in design and architecture at the Aalto University and at the Lahti Institute of Design and Fine Arts. As a furniture design and architecture graduate, in 2010, he was selected as Finnish Furniture Designer of the Year.

Perry King is a co-founder of the Milan-based design studio King Miranda Design where he works across design disciplines for clients such as Flos, Luxit Italiana and Triennale di Milano. Achim Heine studied maths and design. He was a co-founder of the ‘Ginbande’ design project (1989-1995) and, together with Michael Lenz and Peter Zizka, since 1989, he has been running the Heine/Lenz/Zizka design agency based in Frankfurt and Berlin. He has designed products for, among others, Leica, Rosenthal and Vitra and his work is included in many collections and museums. Since 1993, Achim has been professor of product design at the Berlin University of the Arts.
Ronald Ihrig studied industrial design in Darmstadt, Germany. In 1982, he gained his first practical experience in automotive design in the studios of the Adam Opel AG. In 1984, he founded his own design studio based near Frankfurt. Ronald is a frequent commentator on the latest trends from the major international automotive exhibitions and, since 2010, he has been a lecturer in automotive history at the University of Reutlingen. He also organizes the Automotive Designers’Night in Frankfurt and Paris and he is a juror in many international design competitions.

Achim Nagel studied architecture at the University of Hanover. From 1988 to 1993, he was the head of the central construction department at Bertelsmann AG (Gütersloh, Germany). From 1993 to 1999, Achim was a partner in the Ingenhoven Overdiek + Partner architectural practice in Düsseldorf before founding PRIMUS developments in 2000, followed, in 2001, by TWO product development and integrated design, which he started together with Claudia de Bruyn and, in 2009, by ACP Planungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, based in Hamburg, which he founded together with Christian F. Heine.

Arni Aromaa studied industrial design at the University of Art and Design and completed the International Design Business Management Program at the Helsinki School of Economics. He founded Pentagon Design Ltd. in 1996 and was a partner and design manager at Bytepak Ltd from 1996 to 1999. Before founding Native Design in 1998, Morten graduated from the Kingston University in London.
Edward Chiang is the head of the design department at Giant Bicycles, Taiwan. He co-founded DEM Inc., a multidisciplinary design consultancy firm based in Taiwan and he was a member of, among others, the design team at JIA Inc., a Hong Kong-based household appliances brand. After completing a degree in business studies at the University of New York, Edward turned towards his passion for design and aesthetics and also completed an MA at Parsons The New School of Design in New York.
Christian Werner Industrial Design
Born in Berlin, since 1992, Christian Werner has been running his own design studio based near Hamburg. The studio develops furniture, lighting and interior accessories for companies such as Ligne Roset, Rolf Benz, Duravit, De Sede and Leolux. The portfolio also includes exhibition architecture and the design of showrooms, exhibitions, restaurants, shops and offices. Christian studied industrial design in Berlin and Hamburg.

Since 2000, Sam Livingstone has been director of the consultancy firm Car Design Research Ltd. where he has led projects for clients such as Audi, Toyota and BMW. For more than ten years, he has also been a senior tutor on vehicle design at the Royal College of Art in London. Sam is a juror in the World Car of the Year design award and he has participated in many conferences. In 2011, he was named GOMW Design Writer of the Year. Sam graduated in product design and design management. Among others, he also worked for Daewoo.
Dave Brown is the worldwide head of FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) at Brand Union, a global agency with comprehensive expertise in the areas of brand strategy, design, interaction and brand management. Brand Union has about 500 employees in 24 offices around the world. Dave has almost 30 years of experience in brand design. In 1992, he founded Brown inc. as part of the Added Value Group, an international agency focusing on marketing strategies. Dave studied graphic design in Newcastle. Among others, he has received the DBA International Design Effectiveness Award.

Thomas Feichtner is an established Austrian product designer who works and resides in Vienna. He focuses on artistic aspects of and experimental approaches to design. His clients include companies such as J&L Lobmeyr, Neue Wiener Werkstätten, Absolut Wodka, Augarten Porzellanmanufaktur and Carl Mertens. He has realized independent projects in cooperation with Thonet, Vitra and FSB. Many of his products have received design awards and have been included in renowned exhibitions. In 2011, he received the Austrian State Prize for Design.

Danny Venlet is a worldwide successful Belgian interior designer with an Australian back-ground. In 1991, he established Studio Venlet Interior Architecture, known for the interior design of the Burdekin Hotel in Sydney and of the Q-Bar, an Australian nightclub chain. His design projects range from private mansions, lofts, bars and restaurants all the way to show-rooms and large company offices. Additionally, he has given talks and hosted seminars and workshops in Europe, Asia and Australia. Danny currently teaches at the Royal of College of Arts in Gent and at the private College of Advertising and Design in Brussels.

Sunghee Park is vice president of LG Hausys’ design center in Seoul, South Korea. She graduated in visual communication design from the Hong-ik University in Seoul (1992) and she holds an MA from the Pratt Institute in New York. After graduating, she worked in the cosmetics department of Amore Pacific where she was involved in the development and design of many products.

Dieter Wolff is co-founder and CEO of the D’art Design group, an internationally renowned and award-winning agency specializing in 3D communication such as exhibition design, retail design, interior design and product design. Since 2003, he has also been a visiting lecturer in communication architecture at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences. Furthermore, he mentors marketing and management students in ‘store planning and design’ at Hochschule Neuss. Tom Allemeier is design director at the Munich-based studio of BMW Group Designworks USA. Before taking on this post, he was creative director with a focus on transportation at the same company. After teaching interior design at the Blocherer School in Munich, in the 1990s, Tom established an interdisciplinary design agency for products in the architectural and urban environment. In 1992, he graduated in industrial design from the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd.
